The secondary beams 7Be, 8B, and S020600100019 9C, were separated by magnetic rigidity and delivered S020600100020 by the Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou (RIBLL). S020600100021 The beam intensities of 7Be, 8B, and 9C were S020600100022 1.5E4 pps, 1.0E3 pps, and 5.0E2 pps, respectively. S020600100023 SAMPLE The natural Pb target was a self-supporting foil with S020600100024 a thickness of 4.2 mg/cm2. S020600100025 DETECTOR (SCIN) The ToF was measured with two 50-um-thick S020600100026 plastic scintillators located on the second and S020600100027 fourth focal planes of the RIBLL. S020600100028 (SI) The energy loss for each beam was measured with S020600100029 a 280-um-thick silicon detector. S020600100030 (PS,PPAC) Two position-sensitive parallel-plate S020600100031 avalanche counters (PPACs), with a position S020600100032 resolution of 1 mm, were fixed in front of the natPb S020600100033 target, at distances of 100 and 500 mm, respectively. S020600100034 Each PPAC had 80 gold-plated tungsten wires as anode S020600100035 in both the X and the Y directions. The tungsten S020600100036 wires, 20 um in diameter, were spaced 1 mm apart, S020600100037 providing a sensitive area of 80 x 80 cm2. S020600100038 (TELES,SISD,SIBAR) Two sets of delta E-E silicon S020600100039 telescopes, which consisted of a double-sided silicon S020600100040 strip detector (48 strips of 1 mm width, each S020600100041 including a 0.1 mm interval) with a thickness of 150 S020600100042 um and a large surface silicon detector with a S020600100043 thickness of 1500 um. Each telescope covered a polar S020600100044 angle of 7-30 deg in the laboratory frame, on either S020600100045 side of the beam axis. The distances from the natPb S020600100046 target to the center of the telescopes were 247 and S020600100047 201 mm, respectively. S020600100048 METHOD (EDEG) A 301-um-thick aluminum plate, located on the S020600100049 second focal plane of the RIBLL, was utilized to S020600100050 degrade the incident energy and to improve the purity S020600100051 of the secondary beams. S020600100052 (TOF,EDE) Secondary beams were identified using a S020600100053 time-of-flight and energy loss (ToF-Delta E) S020600100054 technique with a certain magnetic rigidity. Elastic S020600100055 scattering events were detected using two sets of S020600100056 delta E-E silicon telescopes.
