The secondary beams of radioactive S020300100015 isotopes were produced by the fragmentation of the S020300100016 54MeV/nucleon 12C primary beam, separated by their S020300100017 magnetic rigidity using HIRFL, on a 2652 um Be target. S020300100018 INC-SOURCE The typical primary beam current was 200 enA, giving S020300100019 typical secondary beam rates for 10C,11C, and 10B of S020300100020 3E4, 4E4, and 2E4 particles per second. S020300100021 SAMPLE Self-supporting foils of natPb with a thickness of S020300100022 4.2mg/cm2 was used. S020300100023 DETECTOR (PPAC) Two PPACs were used to reconstruct the S020300100024 position and incident angle of the incoming beam at S020300100025 the target event by event. Each PPAC has 80 S020300100026 gold-plated tungsten wires, 20 um in diameter, in S020300100027 both X and Y directions and therefore the sensitive S020300100028 area is 80x80 mm2. The PPACS distances from the S020300100029 target were 500 mm and 100 mm. The beam spot and beam S020300100030 divergence on the target are 30 mm in diameter and S020300100031 the 35 mrad. S020300100032 (TELES,SISD,SI) The distances from the natPb target S020300100033 to the center of the two EDE telescopes were 247 and S020300100034 201 mm. Each telescope consists of one double- sided S020300100035 silicon strip detector(DSSD) and a single silicon S020300100036 detector(SSD) The 150 um thick DSSD has 48 strips, S020300100037 which are 48 mm long and 1 mm wide on both the front S020300100038 and the back sides, and has 48x48 mm2 in area. The S020300100039 SSD is 1500 um thick and was 50x50 mm2 in area. S020300100040 METHOD (TOF) A flight path of 17 m was used for the beam S020300100041 particle identification. S020300100042 (EDE) The scattered particles were detected by two S020300100043 sets of EDE detector telescopes.
