S019400100019 The 10Be beam was about 92% purity with an intensity S019400100020 of about 5.0E3 pps and an energy of 7.2 A MeV. S019400100021 SAMPLE CH2 target (41.85 mg/cm2 thick). S019400100022 DETECTOR (PPAC) The incident angles of beam particles on the S019400100023 target were determined by extrapolating the hit S019400100024 positions recorded by two parallel-plate avalanche S019400100025 counters. PPACa and PPACb were 500 and 100 mm away S019400100026 from the target, respectively. S019400100027 (SI) A 280-um-thick silicon detector was inserted in S019400100028 front of PPACa during the beam tuning to perform the S019400100029 particle identification with TOF. S019400100030 (TELES,PS,SISD,SI) The scattered particles were S019400100031 detected by three downstream Delta E-E silicon S019400100032 telescopes (Set1, Set2 and Set3), which were placed S019400100033 at laboratory angles of +16, -16, and 0 deg with S019400100034 respect to the beam axis. The distances from the S019400100035 telescopes to the reaction target, with solid angles S019400100036 of 21, 20, and 21 msr, were set to be about 344, 349, S019400100037 and 345 mm, respectively. The Delta E detectors were S019400100038 position-sensitive double-sided-strip detectors S019400100039 (16x16, 3 mm width of each strip), measuring energy S019400100040 and two-dimensional position information of the S019400100041 recoiled particles with thickness of 301, 300, and S019400100042 149 um, respectively. The E silicon detectors, with S019400100043 thickness of 1533 and 1524 um in Set1 and Set2, and S019400100044 1528 um + 1538 um in Set3, measured the partial or S019400100045 whole energy. S019400100046 (SCIN) Two 50-um-thick plastic scintillators were S019400100047 used to measure the time of flight.
