Proton beams of 25 and 50 MeV O235700100023 energies, and beam intensity of 1-4 uA were used. The O235700100024 energy loss in the target was 1 MeV and 0.6 MeV for O235700100025 25 MeV and 50 MeV protons, respectively. The target O235700100026 was thin enough that the fission induced neutrons O235700100027 could not thermalize in it. The recoiling fission O235700100028 products leaving the target foil were stopped in He O235700100029 buffer gas, where their charge state reduced to +1. O235700100030 The collected fission products were then transported O235700100031 by the gas flow to a differential pumping section, O235700100032 where a sextupole ion beam guide directed them O235700100033 into a magnetic mass separator. The selected ions O235700100034 were then accumulated in a linear quadrupole O235700100035 radiofrequency cooler and buncher. Finally, the O235700100036 collected ion bunch was released into a double O235700100037 Penning trap. Ions were counted with a microchannel O235700100038 plate detector located at the ground potential O235700100039 outside the Penning trap. O235700100040 ANALYSIS Corrections due to radioactive decay and count rate O235700100041 fluctuations were applied to the experimental O235700100042 yields. Isotopic yield distributions were fitted with O235700100043 a Gaussian. The reported yields are normalised so O235700100044 that the height of the Gaussian fit for each isotopic O235700100045 distribution equals 100.
