The measured M066500100026 fissility was found to be 5.7 (1.6) x 10**(-2). This M066500100027 result, along with the available data for 154Sm and M066500100028 174Yb nuclei taken at the same energy, has been M066500100029 interpreted within the framework of a two-step model M066500100030 for the photofission reaction. According to this M066500100031 model the incoming photon is considered to be M066500100032 absorbed by a neutron-proton pair, and then followed M066500100033 by an evaporation-fission competition for the excited M066500100034 residual nucleus. The measured fissility values are M066500100035 seen to be in satisfactory agreement with the M066500100036 calculated ones, and the predictions from the model M066500100037 are confirmed, specially in the region of light M066500100038 fissioning systems.
