Fission cross sections are obtained from M060400100023 the integrated cross section using Penfold and M060400100024 Leiss's method. It is found that photofission cross M060400100025 sections of both uranium and thorium show resonance M060400100026 peaks at a photon energy of 350 MeV, with the peak M060400100027 values of 80 and 60 mb respectively. It is suggested M060400100028 that in a high-energy photofission, the fission M060400100029 mechanism can, at least in part, be due to M060400100030 photomeson production processes.
