The photon beam was obtained from M058500100018 Fe(n,gamma) reaction. The elastic cross section at M058500100019 such angles, being dominated by Rayleigh and M058500100020 Delbruck scattering processes, was measured M058500100021 relative to the Compton cross section. The fact M058500100022 that one of the gamma-lines of Fe(n,gamma) reaction M058500100023 happens to overlap the 7.28 MeV level in 208Pb, M058500100024 yielding a strong nuclear resonance fluorescence M058500100025 signal, enabled to observe, for the first time, M058500100026 an interference effect with the scattering M058500100027 amplitude for the specific case of the random M058500100028 photoexcitation process is derived. The M058500100029 interference effect of this latter process with M058500100030 Rayleigh and Delbruck scattering was calculated M058500100031 and an excellent agreement with measured values M058500100032 was obtained.
