M058300100014 METHOD (REC,MAGFR,BCINT) M058300100015 Cross sections for single-photonucleon emission from M058300100016 7Li have been measured for photon energies in the M058300100017 range 60 - 120 MeV by detecting the recoiling M058300100018 residual nuclei following excitation with M058300100019 bremsstahlung radiation of end-point energies 140 M058300100020 and 155 MeV. M058300100021 DETECTOR (SIBAR) Particles ejected from the target were M058300100022 detectedin a well-shielded array of ten surface M058300100023 barrier detectors mounted in the focal plane of a M058300100024 double-focusing magnetic spectrometer vacuum coupled M058300100025 to the scattering chamber. M058300100026 ANALYSIS For the bremsstrahlung-induced data each measured M058300100027 double-differential cross section for a particle of M058300100028 energy E-r detected at angle theta-r was reduced to M058300100029 a centre-of-mass (c.m.) Photoreaction cross section M058300100030 at laboratory photon energy Egamma and c.m. angle by M058300100031 appropriate formula where the Jacobian was M058300100032 determined using two-body kinematics of the reaction. M058300100033 ERR-ANALYS (DATA-ERR) The quoted uncertainties are compounded M058300100034 from the statistical errors in the pulse-height M058300100035 spectra and the uncertainties in the in the M058300100036 charge-state correction and the target thickness. M058300100037 (ERR-SYS) Systematic uncertainties estimated to total M058300100038 about 7% for photon induced data. These arise from M058300100039 the uncertainty in the M058300100040 * calculated bremsstrahlung spectrum (about 4 %) and M058300100041 * smaller uncertainties in the spectrometer solid M058300100042 angle and charge monitor calibration. M058300100043 ADD-RES Measurements of the 7Li(e,6Li)e'p and 7Li(e,6Li)e'n M058300100044 cross sections were also made at the same electron M058300100045 energies. A significant difference between the ratio M058300100046 of electron- and bremsstrahlung-induced yields for M058300100047 proton and neutron emission was observed. The results M058300100048 were compared to a modified quasi-deuteron model and M058300100049 a simple direct-knockout model in which recoil terms M058300100050 were included.
