In the case of the M056300100016 forward 15 MeV measurement, a thicker detector M056300100017 (2 mm/1250 mm2) was mounted. M056300100018 (SIBAR) The energy calibration of the surface barrier M056300100019 detector was performed with the help of a Th-228 M056300100020 alpha-source, yielding peaks with energies between M056300100021 5.4 and 8.8 MeV. M056300100022 SAMPLE The targets were deuterated polyethylene foils: a M056300100023 CD-2 foil has a weight of 4.88 (0.09)mg/cm**2, a M056300100024 CH-2 foil - 4.56 (0.03) mg/cm**2. M056300100025 ERR-ANALYS (ERR-S) Statistical errors. For the extreme angles, M056300100026 the statistical error on the results amounts 4-5% (at M056300100027 0 degr.) and 7-8 % (180 degr.), respectively, M056300100028 while the systematic uncertainty was at most 3 %. M056300100029 (ERR-SYS) Systematic uncertainties were estimated M056300100030 to be not more than 3% for the following sources: M056300100031 - bremsstrahlung shape; M056300100032 - beam monitoring; M056300100033 - target thickness; M056300100034 - geometry effects; M056300100035 - analysis (energy loss, multiple scattering, etc.). M056300100036 COMMENT The 0, and 180 degree, as well as the 90 degree M056300100037 differential cross sections for the 2H(gamma,p)n M056300100038 reaction have been measured at lab photon energies M056300100039 between 7 and 19 MeV. Special attention was paid to M056300100040 the accuracy, in particular by measuring the forward M056300100041 Compton electron yield. The data confirm the M056300100042 existence of a minimum in the forward cross section M056300100043 and indicate beyond any doubt that the fore/aft ratio M056300100044 is larger than unity. Comparison shows reasonable M056300100045 agreement with the results from recent "conventional" M056300100046 theoretical approaches, including meason exchange and M056300100047 relativistic corrections, although the description of M056300100048 the C-coefficient, appearing in the Partovi expansion M056300100049 of the differential cross section, remains M056300100050 unsatisfactory. A possible source for this M056300100051 discrepancy could be the inadequate description of M056300100052 the E1 and/or the E2 transition operator.
