M056100100003 AUTHOR (N.R.Kolb,P.N.Dezendorf,M.K.Brussel,B.B.Ritchie, M056100100004 J.H.Smith) M056100100005 REFERENCE (J,PR/C,44,37,1991) M056100100006 INSTITUTE (1USAUI) M056100100007 FACILITY (MICRT,1USAUI) The 100 % duty cycle microtron at M056100100008 Nuclear Physics laboratory, University of Illinois, M056100100009 Urbana-Champaign. M056100100010 INC-SOURCE (BRST,KINDT) The energy and angle of the 3He M056100100011 photodisintegation neutron and proton were used to M056100100012 reconstruct the photon energy, making this a M056100100013 kinamatically complete experiment. M056100100014 PART-DET (N,P) M056100100015 METHOD (COINC,EDE) Coincident neutron-proton pairs M056100100016 measurement. M056100100017 DETECTOR (TELES,NAICR,SCIN) Array of 12 long (282.9 x 15.2 x M056100100018 2.5 cm**3) scintillators for neutrons and E-dE M056100100019 telescopes: thin (0.025 cm thick and 5.1 cm in diam.) M056100100022 SAMPLE The target was a cryogenic system which kept the 3He M056100100023 gas at liquid-4He temperature (4.2 K). M056100100024 ERR-ANALYS (ERR-S) Statistical errors M056100100025 Systematic uncertainties were estimated for the M056100100026 following effects: M056100100027 (ERR-1) proton identification 2.0 %; M056100100028 (ERR-2) target thickness 2.6 %; M056100100029 (ERR-3) accidentals subtraction 3.0 %; M056100100030 (ERR-4,3.2,10.0) depascale normalization 3.2 - 10.0 %; M056100100031 (ERR-5,5.0,10.0) neutron efficiency 5.0 - 10.0 %. M056100100032 COMMENT Coincident neutron-proton pairs were measured from the M056100100033 reaction 3He(gamma,Np)p with 100-MeV bremsstrahlung M056100100034 beam. The energy and angle of the neutron and proton M056100100035 were used to reconstruct the photon energy, making M056100100036 this a kinamatically complete experiment. M056100100037 Quasi-deuteron breakup was observed for photon M056100100038 energies from 45 to 95 MeV. The angular distribution M056100100039 of the Np pairs was measured for opening angles from M056100100040 122 to 202 degreees in the laboratory frame. The M056100100041 single-differential cross section in omega-p was M056100100042 determined at theta-p = 81 degree, relative to M056100100043 deuterium, to range from 2.4 at 55 MeV to 1.7 at 95 M056100100044 MeV. M056100100045 ADD-RES The angular distributions of the Np pairs for M056100100046 opening angles from 122 to 202 degreees in the M056100100047 laboratory frame.
