The M055800100015 wire chanmer consisted of three concentric levels M055800100016 of wires which run parallel to the detector axis. M055800100017 The gas mixture used consisted of 90% argon and M055800100018 10% methane. dE-detector of each pair was 3.2 mm M055800100019 thick and E-detector was a 25.4 mm thick. M055800100020 SAMPLE The target bag contained deuterium gas, enriched to M055800100021 the 99.74% level. The target gas was at room M055800100022 temperature and pressure, which averaged 22.5C degr. M055800100023 and 744.1 mm Hg. The resultant number density for M055800100024 2H was 4.86 x 10**19 nuclei/cm**3. M055800100025 ERR-ANALYS (ERR-S)Statistical errors. M055800100026 (ERR-SYS) Systematic errors were estimated to be 3.7%, M055800100027 the sources of which are the following: M055800100028 (ERR-1) uncertainty due to the impurity corrections; M055800100029 (ERR-2) uncertainty due to data cuts 0.3 %; M055800100030 (ERR-3) uncertainty due to tagging efficiency 1.0 %; M055800100031 (ERR-4) uncertainty due to geometric acceptance 1.0 %; M055800100032 (ERR-5,0.2,4.5) uncertainty due to track efficiency M055800100033 for angles from 100 upto 160 degree. M055800100034 COMMENT The absolute differential cross section for the M055800100035 2H(gamma,p)n reaction has been measured using a large M055800100036 solid angle detector, with a tagged photon beam of M055800100037 mean energy 67 MeV. The data have been compared with M055800100038 nine different theoretical calculations of the cross M055800100039 section, which account for the data to varying M055800100040 degrees. Best agreement is obtained for models M055800100041 utilizing the nonrelativistic impulse approximation M055800100042 with a realistic nuclear potential, meson-exchange M055800100043 currents and relativistic corrections.
