For experimental yield curves M049700100020 obtained from residual radioactivity measurements M049700100021 the raw data were recorded as a series of g-ray M049700100022 spectra containing peaks from all activities of M049700100023 interest, an computer code was devised to locate M049700100024 desired peaks, obtain the area of each peak, and M049700100025 correct for the response of the beam monitor. The M049700100026 actual peak areas were calculated by numerical M049700100027 integration after fitting and stripping off the M049700100028 background spectrum. Once the experimental yields M049700100029 were determined, a reduced yield was calculated by M049700100030 application of an energy dependent correction for M049700100031 the response of the beam monitor. The (g,np) reaction is discussed M049700100042 as a channel for the observation of the T = T0 + 1 M049700100043 component of the giant dipole resonance of the M049700100044 nuclear photoeffect, and experimental evidence is M049700100045 presented in support of this conjecture in Ge M049700100046 isotopes.
