In order to avoid contamination of the yield M049600100012 data with the effects of oxygen resonances, the GeO M049600100013 samples were reduced to metallic germanium. The M049600100014 targets were fabricated into wafers with a beam M049600100015 interception area of about 1.5 cm**2 and average M049600100016 weight of 0.98 g. For yield curves obtained M049600100027 from direct neutron detection the multiplicity-bin M049600100028 analysis of the neutron counts for each individual M049600100029 beam burst allowed the statistical extraction of the M049600100030 reaction multiplicities. The form of the spectrum M049600100031 and the reaction rates were calculated using the M049600100032 algorithm for nonlinear regression. Initial M049600100033 estimates for the reaction rates were calculated M049600100034 using statistical goryachev's method. The reaction M049600100035 rates were divided by beam monitor response to form M049600100036 uncorrected yields. The final (or reduced) yields M049600100037 were calculated by the application of an M049600100038 energy-dependent correction for the response of the M049600100039 beam monitor to the bremsstrahlung beam. For yield M049600100040 curves obtained from residual radioactivity M049600100041 measurements raw data were recorded as a series of M049600100042 g-ray spectra containing peaks from all activities M049600100043 of interest, a computer code was devised to locate M049600100044 desired peaks, obtain the area of each peak, and M049600100045 correct for the response of the beam monitor. The M049600100046 area of each peak was calculated by numerical M049600100047 integration after fitting and substracting off the M049600100048 background spectrum. these areas were divided by the M049600100049 beam monitor response to form the reduced yields.
