M049100100024 PART-DET (FF) M049100100025 ANALYSIS Direct measurements of cross section values for M049100100026 coincidence counts between the tagged electrons from M049100100027 linac and the fission detector taking into account M049100100028 such quantities as efficiency of tagging and M049100100029 equivalent thickness of the target. M049100100030 COMMENT The absolute photofission cross sections for Th-232 M049100100031 and U-235,238 have been studied from 20 to 110 MeV M049100100032 using the photon tagging technique at the Saclay M049100100033 linear electron accelerator (ALS). The fission M049100100034 fragments were directly detected using a parallel M049100100035 plate avalanche detector (PPAD). The basic M049100100036 experimental results are the set of data giving M049100100037 sigma(Eg,fission). From a comparison of the present M049100100038 fission data with the total absorption cross M049100100039 sections the total fission probabilities were M049100100040 deduced.
