A possible He-4 contamination was M047400100016 negative down to a level of 0.1%. M047400100017 PART-DET (P) M047400100018 (D) M047400100019 ANALYSIS For each event the measured proton momentum was used M047400100020 to calculate the expected kinematical quantities of M047400100021 the deuteron. By comparing these to the measured M047400100022 values a clean separation of two-body M047400100023 photodisintegration from background was achieved. M047400100024 CORRECTION Corrections had to be applied to the data for: - loss M047400100025 of particles due to nuclear interactions M047400100026 (9 to 26%, depending on particle energy); M047400100027 - uncorrelated background events (2% for low photon M047400100028 energies and forward angles, going up to 26% for M047400100029 m0 the highest photon energies and extreme proton M047400100030 backward angle); M047400100031 - a false determination of the g-quanta energy (this M047400100032 error is biggest for the steepest slope in cross M047400100033 section versus energy and is estimated to be less M047400100034 than 15%). M047400100035 ERR-ANALYS (ERR-S) statistical errors. M047400100036 (ERR-1) Systematic errors due to uncertainties in M047400100037 target thickness were estimated as 1%. M047400100038 (ERR-2) Systematic errors due to uncertainties in the M047400100039 solid angle were estimated as 2%. M047400100040 COMMENT The He-3(g,p)d reaction has been investigated in the M047400100041 photon energy region between 200 MeV and 450 MeV at M047400100042 a proton c.m. angles between 20 and 150 degrees. M047400100043 Protons and deuterons were detected in coincidence M047400100044 with two time-of-flight spectrometers consisting of M047400100045 scintillation counters; both particles were M047400100046 identified and their energies and angles were M047400100047 measured. The angular distributions show a strong M047400100048 forward peak. The differential cross sections fall M047400100049 off with increasing photon energy without showing a M047400100050 significant influence of the delta-resonance.
