M031501000025 ADD-RES The ground-state data were compared with the results M031501000026 of measurement of cross-sections for N-14(g,p0) and M031501000027 C-13(g,p0) reaction. M031501000035 COMMENT For reactions to the ground state in N-13, it appears M031501000036 that most of the photon absorption in the giant M031501000037 resonance region studied forms 2- states in N-14, M031501000038 which are decayed by d-wave neutron emission. Some M031501000039 evidence was found for the existence of 0- strength M031501000040 at about 22.5 MeV (the peak of the cross section). M031501000041 The results are in general consistent with an M031501000042 identification of the (g,n0) process with the M031501000043 promotion of a p1/2 neutron to the s-d shell. Little M031501000044 or no E2 or M1 absorption was observed. Comparison M031501000045 with photoproton measurement shows some evidence for M031501000046 a small amount of isospin t = 0 mixing also near M031501000047 22.5 MeV. The results of the experiment have yielded aM031501000048 cross section which represents only a small fraction M031501000049 (17%) of the possible neutron-producing decays from M031501000050 the giant resonance of N-14. Comparison with M031501000051 calculations of the ground-state cross section shows M031501000052 reasonable agreement if the theoretical results are M031501000053 displaced upwards in energy of about 1 MeV.
