Target was L017600100018 reported to be a powder of 239Pu, 240Pu, and 241Pu in L017600100019 the oxide form, presumably PuO2, contained in a 0.458 L017600100020 +- 0.001g Al foil and sealed in a 5.358+-0.001g Al L017600100021 container. Passive measurements suggested the L017600100022 presence of additional low-Z material. An x-ray image L017600100023 obtained during the bremsstrahlung irradiation of the L017600100024 target indicated that the PuO2 was pear shaped, L017600100025 sitting upright in the cylinder.Gamma-ray L017600100026 spectroscopy was used to determine the isotopic L017600100027 composition of the 240Pu target. Target contained L017600100028 minor amount of 237Pu ( 1E-10 g) L017600100029 DETECTOR (HPGE) Three high-purity germanium (HPGe) detectors L017600100030 were used to collect gamma-ray spectra, one positioned L017600100031 at 90 deg and two at 127 deg (one atop the other), L017600100032 relative to the photon beam axis. L017600100033 INC-SOURCE (BRST)Bremsstrahlung photons were generated using 3- L017600100034 MeV electron beam produced by a Van de Graaff by L017600100035 impinging electrons on a 102 mu-m Au layer atop a L017600100036 1-cm thick water-cooled Cu backing. A 20-cm-thick Pb L017600100037 collimator downstream of the radiator restricted the L017600100038 photon beam to a narrow cone with a half-angle of L017600100039 1.8deg.
