Each disk has a mass L017000100015 of 6.5 g with a thickness of about 0.16 cm. A target L017000100016 is assembled with 1, 2, or 3 disks stacked together. L017000100017 The number of disks chosen for a particular beam L017000100018 energy was carefully selected to maximize the NRF L017000100019 count rate, while keeping the dead time below 50%. L017000100020 DETECTOR (HPGE) Two detector arrays, separated by about 1.5 m, L017000100021 were placed downstream from the collimator and L017000100022 positioned around the 238U targets such that the L017000100023 beryllium windows of the detectors were 10 cm away fromL017000100024 the center of the target. The first array consisted L017000100025 of four clover detectors (each consisting of four L017000100026 high-purity germanium (HPGe) crystals) where each L017000100027 segment has 25% efficiency relative to a 7.6cm x 7.6cm L017000100028 NaI detector. The second array consisted of four HPGe L017000100029 detectors each with 60% relative efficiency. Two more L017000100030 HPGe detectors with 25% relative efficiency were L017000100031 arranged with these two arrays as well. L017000100032 A large volume (123% relative efficiency) HPGe L017000100033 detector was placed in the beam axis prior to NRF data L017000100034 collection to measure the beam energy and the energy L017000100035 profile of the photon beam. L017000100036 INC-SOURCE (LCS) The facility has a 0.24-1.2 GeV storage ring L017000100037 where quasi-monoenergetic gamma-beam is produced by L017000100038 the intracavity Compton back-scattering of the free L017000100039 electron laser photons from the electron bunches.
