G406400100009 SAMPLE The CH2 target was applied both for carbon G406400100010 disintegration measurement and for removing the G406400100011 background contribution from this process to the G406400100012 deuteron disintegration. The CD2 target had a disc G406400100013 shape, 75 mm in diameter and 1mm thick. The CH2 G406400100014 target had a square form, 150.2x150.2mm2 and 1.1mm G406400100015 thick. G406400100016 DETECTOR (TELES,CSICR,SISD) The emitted protons were detected G406400100017 by a CsI/SSD telescope. The telescope consists of two G406400100018 identical single-sided silicon strip detectors (SSDs), G406400100019 and a CsI(Tl) counter. The SSD detectors (deltaE) are G406400100020 of octagonal shape, have an active area 3300 mm2 and G406400100021 a thickness 0.5 mm. They have 64 strips, each with G406400100022 a width of 1 mm. The strips are paralleled in groups ofG406400100023 two for the read-out, thus yielding an effective strip G406400100024 width of 2 mm. The active aria of the detectors was G406400100025 wrapped Al foil 15 mu-m thick. The CsI(Tl) detector (E)G406400100026 is of a cylinder shape 12.5 cm in diameter and 10 cm G406400100027 long, placed in Al container with the standard G406400100028 Al-front-foil. The telescope was placed under angle G406400100029 Sigma p = 90 degrees to the beam axis. The distance G406400100030 between the first SSD and the center of the photon beamG406400100031 sport on the target was 98.5 mm, the distance between G406400100032 the SSDs was 15mm, and the distance between the second G406400100033 SSD and CsI was 10mm. G406400200006 1Variant A: G406400200007 On the first step the carbon background was removed G406400200008 by subtraction of the normalized CH2 spectrum. On the G406400200009 second step, the remaining random background with the G406400200010 exception the deuteron peak range was fitted by five G406400200011 order polynomial to provide adequate description the G406400200012 background in all energy range. G406400200013 2Variant B: G406400200014 After the background subtraction, the spectra both G406400200015 for the CD2 and CH2 targets were flat within the G406400200016 statistical errors and consistent with zero in the G406400200017 background range. On the next step the above CD2 and G406400200018 CH2 spectra were subtracted, and the d(g,p) reaction G406400200019 Emis spectra were obtained.
