SAMPLE     Targets of super pure 209Bi (0.837 mg/cm2 thick) were  D606000100009 
           prepared by vacuum evaporation on 7.6 mumeter super    D606000100010 
           pure aluminum foil.                                    D606000100011 
           In order to avoid the cross contamination of fission   D606000100012 
           products due to large activity of direct reaction      D606000100013 
           products, the 209Bi target was covered with a          D606000100014 
           0.76 mumeter super pure Al foil.                       D606000100015 
           This will allow the fission products to pass and will  D606000100016 
           prevent the reaction products. The whole assembly was  D606000100017 
           put in a target holder and irradiated for a suitable   D606000100018 
           length of time with 96 MeV 16O particle beam of        D606000100019 
            ~100 nA. The average incident 16O ion energy on the   D606000100020 
           Bi targets was 89.5 MeV, whereas the average energy on D606000100021 
           the aluminum catcher foil was 76.1 MeV.                D606000100022

           In the case of 85mKr, 106mRh, 115Cd, 116m-In and 117mCdD606000100038 
           only one isomeric state was studied which gives partialD606000100039 
           cross section for the nuclide.                         D606000100040 
COMMENT    Studies on the oxygen-16 induced fission of 209Bi      D606000100041 
           have been carried out at particle energies of 89.5 MeV D606000100042 
           using gamma ray spectrometry. The cross sections for   D606000100043 
           the production of fission products have been           D606000100044 
           determined. The yield distribution of fission          D606000100045 
           products was found to be symmetric and broad with      D606000100046 
           FWHM around 15 mass units and peak near mass 108.      D606000100047 
           Charge distribution studies in the oxygen-16 induced   D606000100048 
           fission of 209Bi has also been carried out at          D606000100049 
           particle energy of 89.5 MeV. Relative cumulative       D606000100050 
           yields of 92Sr, 97Zr, 99Mo, 101Mo, 112Pd and 117mCd    D606000100051 
           have been determined using gamma ray spectrometry.     D606000100052 
           Width of charge distribution has been found to be      D606000100053 
           broad. Total cross section in the oxygen-16 induced    D606000100054 
           reaction of 27Al at particle energy of 76.1 MeV been   D606000100055 
           carried out.                                           D606000100056
