C268500100019 DETECTOR (MAGSP,SISD) Reaction products recoiled to the C268500100020 Berkeley Gas-filled Separator, where they were C268500100021 separated according to ions A/q. At the BGS focal C268500100022 plane ions can be implanted into a retractable 32 x C268500100023 32 double-sided silicon strip detector or ions could C268500100024 pass through 2.1 mu-m thick Ti foil into FIONA setup. C268500100025 (SISD) After magnetic analysis in BGS, the beam C268500100026 entered the FIONA setup, which consisted of beam C268500100027 manipulation elements as RFQ cooler and trap, C268500100028 accelerating element with focusing, steering and C268500100029 diagnostic. The accelerated beam entered C268500100030 low-background area where the ions were separated by C268500100031 their A/q in a trochoidal spectrometer which utilizes C268500100032 crossed magnetic and electric fields, tuned to force C268500100033 the ions traveling through the spectrometer to take C268500100034 trochoidal trajectories. At the FIONA focal plane C268500100035 ions are implanted into 32 x 32 strip double sided Si C268500100036 strip detector. C268500100037 METHOD (ACTIV) Evaporation residue (EVR)-alpha-alpha C268500100038 correlations were searched for in data taken at the C268500100039 220 MeV beam energy with the BGS focal plane detector C268500100040 inserted and FIONE focal plane detector. Time windows C268500100041 were expanded up to 30 and 300 s for EVR-alpha1 and C268500100042 EVR-alpha1-alpha2, respectively. The 244Md was C268500100043 identified according to EVR mass and energies of C268500100044 series of decay alphas. C268500100045 HISTORY (20211025C) Compiled by S.H.
