The alpha C253000100024 particles from At211 (and EC daughter, Po211) were C253000100025 counted in an ionization chamber having 50% geometry. C253000100026 In "ratio experiments", stacked foils (consisting of C253000100027 gold targets and aluminum foils) were bombarded and C253000100028 the ratios of production of low-activity astatine C253000100029 nuclides to that of the prominent activities were C253000100030 measured. For measurements of Pt(N14,xn) cross C253000100031 sections, in addition to other types of experiments, C253000100032 it was necessary to do ratio experiments.
