C246000100022 (HPGE) Gamma rays emitted by reaction residues were C246000100023 detected by HPGe Segmented Germanium Array (SeGA) C246000100024 array. The 16 32-fold segmented high-purity germanium C246000100025 detectors were arranged in two rings with central C246000100026 angles of 37deg (7 detectors) and 90deg (9 detectors) C246000100027 relative to the beam axis. Gamma-ray energies were C246000100028 event-by event reconstructed from detector angle and C246000100029 beam velocity. Coincidence with reaction residues C246000100030 identified in S800 focal plane detector was required. C246000100031 METHOD (EDE,TOF,COINC) C246000100032 INC-SOURCE (KINDT) The secondary 55Co beam was produced from a C246000100033 160 MeV/u 58Ni primary beam in projectile C246000100034 fragmentation on a thick 610 mg/cm2 9Be target. The C246000100035 secondary beam consisted of 55Co(27%) 56Ni (72%), C246000100036 54Fe (1%). The secondary beam of interest 55Co could C246000100037 be unambiguously distinguished via time of flight at C246000100038 the exit of the A1900 fragment separator.
