The 3276800100012 stability of the neutron flux was monitored by using 3276800100013 a scintillator detector. The absolute value of 3276800100014 neutron flux was determined by neutron activation 3276800100015 analysis. The intensity of the neutron source was 3276800100016 estimated to be about 1.5E11 neutron/sec by the 3276800100017 monitor reaction 27Al(n,a)24Na. The neutron energy 3276800100018 was calibrated by the cross section ratio of 3276800100019 90Zr(n,2n)89Zr to 93Nb(n,2n)92mNb reactions. 3276800100020 DETECTOR (HPGE) A low background, high efficiency HPGe 3276800100021 detector with a relative efficiency of about 68% and 3276800100022 an energy resolution of 1.7 keV (FWHM) at 1.33 MeV. 3276800100023 The efficiency of the detector was pre-calibrated 3276800100024 using various standard gamma sources, which are 60Co, 3276800100025 109Cd, 137Cs, 152Eu, 226Ra, and 241Am. 3276800100026 SAMPLE Samples (CeO2 powder of 99.99% pure, natural isotopic 3276800100027 composition) were pressed into circular lamina with a 3276800100028 diameter of about 14 mm and a thickness of about 1 3276800100029 mm. Each of the sample was covered by a polyethylene 3276800100030 bag and then sandwiched between two monitor Al 3276800100031 (99.99% pure, 50 um thick) foils and standard Nb and 3276800100032 Zr (99.99% pure, 0.5 mm thick) foil. 3276800100033 METHOD (ACTIV) The samples were placed at 45 deg and 85 deg 3276800100034 angles relative to the deuterium beam direction and 3276800100035 centered about the T-Ti target at a distance of 35 mm, 3276800100036 were irradiated for about 8 h. The length of cooling 3276800100037 and measuring time mainly depends on the half life of 3276800100038 the isotope to be measured. After the irradiation and 3276800100039 cooling, the gamma-activities of 135Ce, 137Ce, 139Ce, 3276800100040 141Ce, 140La, 142La, 137mBa, 139Ba and 143Ce were 3276800100041 measured. Four characteristic gamma peaks were marked 3276800100042 for 135Ce and 140La products, and one characteristic 3276800100043 gamma peak was marked for 137mCe, 139Ce, 141Ce, 142La, 3276800100044
