Two detectors with 1468500100017 relative efficiences 80% and 140% were located in the 1468500100018 distance 10 cm within the ion trap. Detectors were used1468500100019 to identify ions. 1468500100020 (TELES,SCIN,SCIN) For beta spectroscopy two plastic 1468500100021 scintillator dE-E telescopes were used. dE detector 1468500100022 was 1 mm thick and 10.6 cm in diameter. E detectors 1468500100023 were 10.2 cm thick and diameter of 13.3 cm. Both 1468500100024 telescopes were placed approx. 105 mm from the center 1468500100025 of ion trap. The left and bottom dE detectors had 1468500100026 beta-energy thresholds of 76+-24 and 62+-30 keV, 1468500100027 respectively. 1468500100028 (MCPLT) Recoil ions were detected using two resistive- 1468500100029 anode Chevron microchannel plate detectors with 1-ns 1468500100030 timing resolution and submillimeter position 1468500100031 sensitivity. Each detector area was 50.3 x 50.3 mm2 1468500100032 and was located 53 mm away from the ion trap center. 1468500100033 METHOD (TOF) The nuclei of interest were produced in CARIBOU 1468500100034 facility and trapped for some time in ion trap. 1468500100035 Fission fragments from approx. 100 mCi 252Cf source 1468500100036 were thermalized in a large He filled gas catcher, 1468500100037 extracted as 1+ ions, separated and delivered to 1468500100038 radiofrequency quadrupole buncher. The ion bunches 1468500100039 were then injected into Beta-decay Paul Trap, which is 1468500100040 also a linear radiofrequency quadrupole ion trap, where1468500100041 their decay was measured. Ions were periodically 1468500100042 ejected from the trap to measure background. 1468500100043 Time of flight of recoiled ions was determined from 1468500100044 time difference between dE beta detector and MCP ion 1468500100045 detector. 1468500100046 Decay products - beta rays, gamma rays and recoiled 1468500100047 ions were detected and beta-decay kinematics event by 1468500100048 event reconstructed using a Monte Carlo code. 1468500100049 Neutron energy was obtained from measured ion recoil 1468500100050 momentum assuming that neutron and ion had equal and 1468500100051 oposite momenta. 1468500100052 ANALYSIS The beta-n branching ratios were obtained by 1468500100053 comparing number of beta-ion coincidence events with 1468500100054 neutron emission to the number of detected beta 1468500100055 particles.
