Two crystals were 2 cm in diameter and 1455000100018 0.41 mm in thickness, another two crystals were of the 1455000100019 same diameter and 0.076-mm in thickness, used in two 1455000100020 fold coincidence as fission detectors. These fission 1455000100021 detectors were covered with 100-mu-g/cm2 nickel-foil 1455000100022 light shields to prevent 'crosstalk' with the 1455000100023 long-range particle crystals. The energy resolution of 1455000100024 the long-range particle counters was about 11% for 1455000100025 6.1 MeV 252Cf alphas and 6% for 8.78 MeV alphas from 1455000100026 212Po.
