The detector was placed 1451200100017 inside the lead shield to reduce room background 1451200100018 observed by the detector and the copper liner 1451200100019 attenuated x-rays emitted by the lead shielding. 1451200100020 SAMPLE (92-U-235,ENR=0.9984) Two isotopically-characterized 1451200100021 targets of high-purity (99.84+ 0.03%) 235U-oxide. Two 1451200100022 targets, one large and one small, were prepared at 1451200100023 LLNL from the stock powder by loading nominal masses 1451200100024 of 63.0 and 8.6 milligram-equivalents of 235U-metal 1451200100025 into separate quartz ampoules. Quartz wool was packed 1451200100026 into the quartz tube to x the 235U-oxide in-place 1451200100027 within the ampoule before heat sealing them. 1451200100028 METHOD (ACTIV) Two ampoules along with a witness foil 1451200100029 package were loaded into the center of the Godiva 1451200100030 critical assembly and exposed to a single pulsed 1451200100031 irradiation. The witness foil package contained 1451200100032 high-purity copper, gold, cobalt, iron, and titanium 1451200100033 wires. Activities observed in these wires were used 1451200100034 to estimate the neutron fluence of the exposure. The 1451200100035 targets were retrieved from Godiva shortly after the 1451200100036 irradiation. The small target was placed 8.8 cm from 1451200100037 the face of the BEGe detector for list-mode gamma 1451200100038 counting 230.2 minutes after irradiation and was 1451200100039 later replaced by the larger target 290.77 minutes 1451200100040 after irradiation. Data were taken for a total of 7 1451200100041 days. The switch between small and large targets was 1451200100042 made to increase the data acquisition rate; thus, 1451200100043 improving the statistical precision of fission product 1451200100044 measurements made at days-after-irradiation. 1451200100045 ANALYSIS (DECAY) Spectra were analyzed using Mirion's 1451200100046 Genie2000 software. Spectra loaded into Genie2000 1451200100047 were analyzed using a step-based process. First, the 1451200100048 spectra were analyzed using a second-difference peak 1451200100049 search algorithm. Next, distances between peaks were 1451200100050 compared against a user-defined threshold based on 1451200100051 the measured resolution calibration to identify 1451200100052 single peaks and multiplets. After sorting, peaks 1451200100053 were fit using the sum of a low-tail Gaussian 1451200100054 function and either a linear or step based background 1451200100055 estimation function, depending on which background 1451200100056 function gave better residual chi** 2. Peaks within 1451200100057 multiplet regions were fit simultaneously for better 1451200100058 background estimation. Each peak fit was visually 1451200100059 reviewed and in many cases manually refit using the 1451200100060 Mirion's Interactive Peak Fitting software; this 1451200100061 utility was crucial in providing reliable data 1451200100062 quality because of the complexity encountered within 1451200100063 the spectrum. Decay data used in the final 1451200100064 measurements were taken from Nudat 2.0 in 2011. 1451200100065 CORRECTION A first pass analysis was conducted using only 1451200100066 first-order Bateman decay corrections to identify 1451200100067 cases where higher order Bateman corrections were 1451200100068 needed. Specific activities corrected to a concurrent 1451200100069 time are expected to be similar. Second-order Bateman 1451200100070 decay corrections were generally applied in cases 1451200100071 where the parent nuclide's half-life was >5% of the 1451200100072 daughter's half-life as was the case for 134Te/I. The 1451200100073 last correction was the self-shielding correction 1451200100074 factor. 1451200100075 HISTORY (20181213C) BP 1451200100076 (20240205A) OS.
