They were cut into 1 cm x 1 1429100100015 cm targets and mounted normal to the incident beam at 1429100100016 a distance 2.6 cm downstream from the deuteron beam 1429100100017 stop. Natural Al and Au foils, also cut into 1 cm x 1 1429100100018 cm dimensions, were mounted on either face of the 1429100100019 GaAs samples and irradiated with them in order to 1429100100020 determine the neutron flux incident on the samples. 1429100100021 DETECTOR (HPGE) Samples were measured in the TUNL low- 1429100100022 background counting facility using high-purity (HPGe) 1429100100023 detectors.
